Delivery of the first tram for the Mid-Life Maintenance Project of De Lijn
CAF Delivers the first tram unit for the Belgian Operator De Lijn - Vlaamse Vervoermaatschappij
CAF has delivered the first tram unit for De Lijn - Vlaamse Vervoermaatschappij, following the successful completion of mid-life maintenance works involving the installation of new systems and equipment.
This intervention is part of a contract awarded to the CAF Group, which includes a series of high-value technical tasks aimed at ensuring optimal performance, operational reliability, and the extension of the fleet’s service life.
The scope of the project includes:
- Structural repairs
- Design improvements (interior and exterior aesthetics) and enhanced accessibility
- Integration of new equipment and systems, including:
- Rear-view camera system
- Sand level measurement system
- Battery voltmeter indicator
These upgrades will provide the trams with improved levels of comfort, efficiency, and availability, adapting them to current operational needs.
